Hatmaker Week 26, June 2019: LEIFUR Lucky FEDORA and a much needed break

Week 26 Banner.jpg

This week reminds me of when I first started making hats. In 2017 I practiced every single day for 9 months straight until I sold my first hat. 7 days a week just punching out hats and learning everything I could about sizes and sweatbands. This month I have been working exactly the same. I only took one day off but this weekend I am working both Saturday and Sunday. Finishing up as much as possible before my 2 weeks away from the studio.

Let me begin to tell you about some amazing hats I made this week. LEIFUR FEDORAS everywhere. Different proportions and colors. None of them looked same. I am glad to finally have made a SAGE GREEN LEIFUR. It has been on my mind for several months. I wanted to make one for myself, but then I got an order request to make one. The crown is lower than the standard LEIFUR I usually make. This is the beauty of Custom Design. What ever your desired proportions are in a hat, it can be made. As long as the felt allows and if the material is there, then it’s possible.

Not every LEIFUR FEDORA is the same. Everyone have their own take on the hat. I just make them how you want them to look. It’s an amazing journey to find the right proportions that works for you. I am glad to be part of your journey to design your hat. As I mentioned before, if someone wants a hat in a different color or with a different color ribbon, that’s a great challenge to take on. It’s what making hats is all about.

I still have another week to get through. Each day I will add as many hours in the studio as I possibly can. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have supported HUFVUD for the first part of this year. Your patience and support is much appreciated and I hope to continue to be creating hats for you.

Soon I will grab my CUSTOM LEIFUR FEDORA and venture out in the world with the person I love the most.

  • STAGE 2: Prepare and Stitch Sweatband - > Stamp Sweatband and Assemble (1 day)
